Kenny‘s week 52: returning the favor to the Lord!

Image
Here we are again! The transfer is coming to an end here in a few weeks, and I'm getting all the details ready for when people start traveling haha - This past week was very much focused on finding new people who'd have interést in the Gospel, it was a bit tough but had some great moments. We've been trying to get our recent converts to have strong relationships with our active ward members, so we go walk together with these member familias and visit friends and other converts, it's all pretty cool! - Office craziness! We lost Internet and all just suffered for a day trying to get contracts made and payments done... It was a BATTLE but we were victorious (I reference the picture of me dead on the ground) - Pancake Pday! I've mastered making Pancakes on anything other than a skillet... It's so weird but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do haha - Came across this whack store with American snacks and everything. Saw Doctor Pepper for the first time... I would have ...

Kenny’s week 51: beautiful skies and baptisms!

Image
Howdy guys! We’re nearing the year mark already, it’s crazy how time flies. Lets Chalk it up!  - We had the Baptism of our two friends Tomas and Lautaro this last week! They're brothers, and friends with Angel who got baptized last week! There’s such a strong spirit as God’s children start their covenant journey through Baptism to follow the Savior! - We had an EPIC lunch in the office, the bishop of our ward bought us a giant container of Empenadas and we just ate that thang up haha - And another food story: we made Orange Chicken and it turned out so unbelievably well. Blew my mind that a bunch of crazy 20yr-olds were able to pull it off. Good stuff!  - The weather keeps changing like crazy, it’s getting colder, and yet the clouds just like to blow our minds with how beautiful they are. There was a giant one in the sky one day and we were just struck in place staring at it... "woah" was the only word said between the three of us haha - Of course, every day is filled w...

Viviana & Jed Wilkinson visit!! Week 50

Image
Mom’s Facebook post:  BEST 20th birthday gift ever for Elder Kenneth Chalk… a visit from our dear friends Viviana & Jed Wilkinson!! Thank you guys for driving hours to treat Kenny and his companions to a fancy dinner!! 🥩 🥰 A big piece of our hearts is in Argentina with you all!  #VivianaGetsHomemadeBreadForever  #WeAllLovePeopleWhoLoveOurKids  #NoMoreTeenagersAtHome😢 https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/?lang=eng Follow up message from Viviana: Elder Chalk!!!

Baptisms, Fruit Loops, & Spanish! Kenny’s week 50

Image
Hey guys! This is the first email going out as the Big 20 years old! Let’s hit the highlight reel! - Birthday! After a fun debate on what the heck we wanted to do, we called it good and got ice cream. - Baptisms! Had a humbling opportunity to baptize some friends named Angel and Alan, both were so happy as they left the font! - Transfers! I got the epic  3:30am wake up to make sure nothing went haywire. It was a great opportunity to work on organizational skills. - New Companion! Elder Burton joined the trio! He's from Arizona, has about 18 months in the field. A solid teacher! - Easter Sunday! It was beautiful, we had an incredible Sacrament Meeting with a spirit incomparable to anything I’ve felt before! All the Elders did a special musical number of the song "Were you there," it was pretty amazing! The Primary kids all sang Gethsemane, maybe a few tears were shed of just cuteness overload haha. Then all the Elders of the Office got together and we ate a fun Easter lunc...

Kenny’s week 49 in Argentina: Turning 20!

Image
Two days out from the Big 20 years old! The “lifetime tithing of 10%” is so fitting… Mom sent me some baby pics haha Hope life is well! Let’s jump right into the recap!  - We had the Baptism of our friends Dinora, Nicol, and Làzaro this last Sunday! I took the picture so I wasn't in it haha - We had some fun splits with the Elders in a place called Baigorria, we were able to visit a little town we call "Toba Town," it feels like a mini African tribe in the middle of a big field. We got to meet a bunch of cool little kids, they felt like a little Lamanite tribe haha - We’re working like crazy before the transfers come this Wednesday! Can’t wait for the 3am wakeup to make sure everything goes smoothly - This coming week we’ll be having quite a few more baptisms, so stay posted!  That’s about it! Weekly reminder to clean your room and eat your vegetables. That goes for adults too. ~Kenny

Hey guys! I definitely wrote and sent an email last week, but something must have happened since I was sent some message that nothing came through... So ill give a recap of the last two weeks in this one haha - My brother Stephen and his wife Tanya got married and sealed in the temple and I got a cool little cameo at the temple! Props to them :) - Were doing a lot of splits and moving a lot of urgency, since we get just about 4.5hs of proselyting time on average now... Being in the office is talking a bit of our time as we’re prepping for the transfers and I get to do all the individual plans for all 170 missionaries here next week haha - We did a little aquarium visit last week, got to see a bunch of cool little fish and get some cool pictures out by the lake here! - One of the friends of a companionship in our District is a metal forger, so he made a batarang for them... We definitely got some fun flicks with that haha - We’re going to be having quite a few Baptisms of our fr...
