Kenny’s Week 34: Ainara’s baptism!

Image
Ah man. Yall are gonna like this one. High highs, low lows, and a whole lot of HEAT. The week started off great. But it all went downhill  from Tuesday morning ... - We were doing morning studies... then the power went out. In the nice 96°, heat. Which means the fan for air circulation. And we live under a nice metal sheet roof, so the house is an oven if not treated carefully...  - So this lasted until  Friday morning when  the issue was resolved. And in the meantime, Elder Nielson and I would make the Half hour journey both ways to the pensión (apartment) of the other Elders. That was crazy. But hey, slumber parties are fun every now and then.  - That was probably the worst of it though. The week was epic even through the midst of the trials. For instance: - This week we had a Baptism of our friend Ainara! She’s pretty dang smart for 10 years old, and loved the whole experience.  Lucas - We had been teaching him some three months ago, but ended up stoppin...

Why can’t people just be like rubiks  cubes? Where you can just solve the cube (answer their question) and then it just stays solved (or, they do what you suggest them to do)? Y’all there are some people here... They make me...  jump for joy   There were some fun moments this week. From Catholic Grandmas to mini gospel discussions in the street... I will say, even in all the insanity of the week (which it really wasn’t even that crazy, I just like exhagerating (how do you spell that?), all is still well out here in Venado.    - Epic Zone Conference. Great lessons learned   - Had a farewell party for our friend Ruth, who's starting home MTC next week, there was so much food...   - Had some epic lessons about the Gospel with our friend Oscar (in the pic), he has such a strong testimony of the Gospel. HIS son served his mission in México I think? Awesome family, all of them   - Had this whack interactivo with this Catholic Grandma who was tryi...

In all honesty, not a whole lot to report this week. Just always in “the lucha”, or the fight, inviting everyone to come unto Christ. Luckily we Elders are well recieved here :)    - The Elders all went and got hats because of how crazy sunny it’s going to be these next few months... I feel like a farmer hehehe   - Fun highs of 103 degrees this week! Yipeeeeeeee   - Elder Nielson and I get along pretty dang well, we had a great service project this last Saturday cleaning up the motorcycle of one of our members so they could go to church looking spick 'n span   - More food… first time to eat cucumbers again since home!   - We did a big ol clean up in our kitchen, so I snagged a good pic of the microwave area so yall can be proud of how neat it is ;)    In a few weeks, one of our friends here will be leaving on her mission to Buenas Aires  Sur  (south), so we’re all going to prep a fun  despadida   ( farewell) for her! Til...

Kenny Chalk week 31: So many dogs!

Image
I’m still aliiiiiiiiiiveeeeee (The Croods) Buenas dias a todos!! Hope the New years went well over yonder, it was pretty straightforward here haha Lets get into it: - Transfers came and went... Bye bye Elder Price, hello Elder Nielson! He’s from Utah, and a phenomenal Missionary. We’re looking forward to a very successful transfer here!  - We ate lunch with the Branch President here, he knows English and has an accounting job from the states here in Argentina, so he's pretty well off... They asked us to put on slippers when we entered their house, I swear that place was nicer than some houses in the US! - So many dogs! I’m still in the same área as last time, but the dogs haven't changed... They're just... Everywhere haha - Did service at a member’s home, they also knew English (so strange), and we moved a bunch of their furniture. Bruno showed us his Michael Jackson and 80s jazz vinyl collection, to this day I’m always so impressed with the science behind Gramophones. He...
