WAMBAMPOW! Elder Chalk week 18


Alriiiiight here we are again! Coming to the end of the second transfer this next week, it'll be interesting to see what all goes down! This week was weird, felt long but I feel like I LITERALLY just wrote the email for last week five minutes ago haha


- Passed the 4 month mark!

- Got to lead my area in splits last Tuesday with a new greenie (new missionary), it was crazy watching the Spanish I’d learned just go full out WAMBAMPOW and everyone understood what we were saying... Miracles happen folks haha

- Lots of working this week, nothing all that crazy went down

- General Conference was phenomenal, President Nelson's invitation to rededicate our lives to Christ was pretty dang powerful! Long story short, get ready for the Second Coming guys haha

- Taught English class as always, we ended up singing the song my Mom used to teach in primary - “Don’t Ever Forget To Pray” - and it was hilarious...

  Buen día todos! We’re still going strong out here-  Christmas and New years are this week. If y'all remember from the other email, we have certain rules on what times we have to be in the house and what times we can go out, so we'll be attentive to those, since the people really do get crazy on the holidays haha - There's this stray dog (we named him Scooter since he likes to scoot across the grass here) and he's been following us literally everywhere the past 4 days. Whenever he sees us, he just starts waggin his tail like crazy and doesn’t leave our side. It’s kinda creepy, honestly. We’ll be having a lesson with some friends, and a good half hour later he's still just there on the grass outside, staring at the door, waiting for us. He’s a good man. If you ever end up reading this Scooter, you're an A+ amigo :)  - Walked with our friend to church last Sunday, a solid half hour to the church and we almost missed the meeting... But we made it in time, no sweat...

Elder Kenny Chalk’s 9 month mark! Week 39

  Me again! We had a great zone conference, and interviews with the President are coming up on Wednesday – should be amazing! Also, had variety of interesting experiences this week. - The Zone Conference was phenomenal. There was a big emphasis on what we as missionaries can do to consecrate ourselves to the Lord even before teaching or finding people. It was really thought-provoking. - We talked with a returned missionary who was going through some major personal trials and helped him arrange some things to get his life back on track. He played an epic rendition of the hymn "If You Could Hie to Kolob" – it was beautiful. - I went on divisions (splits) with Zone Leader Elder Eldridge. We ended up walking pretty much the entire night, but we ate bananas at the end, so it was worth it!    - I got a package from my family this week with some things from the States that I've really missed – Pringles, gum, clip-on tie (in honor of my Grandpa Stephen who served here) and things...

First letter from Argentina! 7/22/24

  Hola! Quite a bit happened in the past 7 days, I'll keep it quick haha! First and foremost, MTC is done, and I’m glad to be in the field! Good times all round, excepto for getting here... first a 9 hour Flight to Buenos Aires, with  a 4am  wake up, then once we got there, the leaders go "you got the same thing tonight!" I was so done haha! But yeah, got up  at 4am  again, and I still haven’t caught up on my sleep schedule! It was fun to meet President Walton! Such a nice man. He read my introduction paperwork and said- “I see you are a black belt, that’s good because this is a working mission!” 🙌 I also told him I won’t be a troublemaker.😂 Mom I’ll give him the Texas pasta noodles when I see him next week😂 I did meet up with my trainer, Élder Monson (not related to Thomas S.) and he's been showing me the ropes... He is amazing! We get along really well. He’s been out a year and 9 months, so only 3 months left to go… I will likely be his last companion befor...
