Elder Kenneth Georg Chalk, LDS Missionary in Rosario, Argentina!🇦🇷

  Hola from the Mexico City Missionary Training Center! Alright, so quick recap of what’s been up here: (This is so weird typing on a keyboard... I haven’t seen one of these in awhile- haha!) Classes everyday to learn the gospel principles and Spanish, the latter is getting quite difficult - I must say. Been performing duets with my Companion, Elder Hinton (Love the dude), every opportunity we have- at church sessions, at CCM-wide (MTC) devotionals, on breaks just messing around at the piano... always a blast! I felt the Spirit to such a strong degree after our district gave a rendition of "More Holiness Give Me," absolutely blew me away... I was just in awe for a solid 5 minutes. And the CCM food is EPIIIIC! Other highlights: - Getting more accustomed to the heat - 2 temple trips so far; seems like Mexico Temple is 4x bigger than Houston temple! - Sleeping great - The bluetooth keyboard Mom & Dad sent speeds up typing- yay - Glad to help out as House Leader - President ...

So happy to get the short but powerful message that Kenny arrived in Mexico that first day! A few days later, while enjoying Budapest, beautiful outdoor water fountain dancing to lights and music, Kenny called and we enjoyed a fun six minute conversation!  All is well, sleeping is tricky because it’s so hot, and Pdays would be on Thursday. He loves the food and was excited to audition for and make two upcoming musical numbers, one at devotional and one singing in church with his awesome companion Elder Hinton. A few days later, we got his first letter! Which promptly helped us decide to order him the same Bluetooth keyboard that Stevie used in Boston when he was doing his 10 hours a day of Facebook finding. Hopefully the keyboard will arrive in Mexico and  help him write emails! Yall ima be honest i domt want to do weekly emails... ill journal but i cant type this out on a phone every single week... June 3, 2024 And Kenny is now Elder Chalk! We’re grateful for these unforgettable weeks of all the fun memories… Singing the national anthem at his high school commencement, attending the temple, all the last cousin sleepovers… he’s ready for this wonderful adventure! Today begins the first week of the MTC: home-based Missionary Training Center. Then to the Mexico MTC for 4 weeks, then off to Rosario, Argentina! Scout and Mom enjoyed being his exercise companions bright and early☀️  home MTC was a great way to start learning the gospel in Spanish while still having lots of Scout snuggle time! 🤣  Fun going to see his pediatric dentist for the last time—  After Elder Chalk’s last cleaning, Dr. McCandless hugged him and said “Go change the world! This is the face I’d want to see if I was out there and lost.”🥹🙏   Bonus: Roadtrip with mom and dad seeing Stefan at the San Antonio temple while he’s in the army! “If ye have desires to serve God, ye are called to the work....
